Michigan Stadium bag policy 2026: no bags, not even clear ones
The rules in short
- No bags of any kind. Clear bags, clutches, purses, fanny packs and backpacks are all turned away at the gate.
- One medical or childcare bag is allowed per guest who needs it (prescriptions, diapers). It must be a sensible size for what is inside.
- Exception gates: medical and childcare bags must enter at Gate 3 (south end) or Gate 9 West (north end) to be inspected and tagged. Suite tower guests are inspected at their own entrance.
- No re-entry. If you leave, your ticket will not get you back in.
- Gates open 2 hours before kickoff (2.5 hours for club and suite entrances).
Turned away with a bag? Bag Check
- Inside the southeast entrance of Crisler Center, off Stadium Way. Crisler is just south of the stadium, by Gate 2.
- You get a claim ticket. Collect within 45 minutes of the final whistle.
- Cannot be checked: cash, alcohol, food, cameras, video cameras, weapons.
- Unclaimed items: email [email protected] the Monday after. Items are discarded after 10 days.
- Lines get long close to kickoff. Leaving the bag in the car is quicker.

What to do instead
- Use pockets, or a jacket with inside pockets. On cold November games a coat with deep pockets does the job of a bag.
- Phone wallet cases are not bags. Keys, cards and a phone in pockets are fine.
- Buy water inside: every stand by section. All concessions are cashless.
- Rain: ponchos and rain jackets are allowed, umbrellas are not. See the forecast for each game.
