Where do students sit at Lane Stadium?

The main student gate is Gate 7 on the northeast side, leading to general admission student seating behind the North End Zone.

What are the tailgating rules at Lane Stadium?

Tailgating is permitted in designated Hokie Club parking lots on game day, confined to the area immediately behind the vehicle, and must not block roadways or sidewalks. Tents may be put up only after lots open and must be removed by noon the day after the game; tents larger than 900 sq ft generally require a permit from the VT University Building Official. Open-flame fires and fire pits are prohibited; propane and charcoal grills are permitted outdoors away from tents. Corporate or professional tailgates are not allowed without prior written approval from the Department of Athletics.

Is there a sun and shade map for Lane Stadium?

Not yet. We have not built a seat model here yet: it needs a recent lidar survey of the stands as they are now, and we are checking the available surveys stadium by stadium. We only publish seat and sun data measured from a survey of the stands as they are now, so this guide sticks to the schedule, parking and stadium policies until a newer survey is flown.

Before you go

• Bags: Fans are encouraged not to bring bags. Permitted bags are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC not exceeding 12 in x 6 in x 12 in, a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag, or a small clutch bag 4.5 in x 1 in x 6.5 in without a handle or strap carried along with a clear bag option. Exceptions are made for medically necessary items in clear bags after inspection at a designated gate. Prohibited bags include purses, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage, seat cushions, strollers, computer bags, camera bags and diaper bags. Bag policy.
• Payment: Lane Stadium only accepts cards and contactless payment including Apple Pay and Google Pay; it does not have ATM machines.
• Getting there: Blacksburg Transit runs all scheduled routes with additional buses added on game day as availability permits. Parking and transit.
• Food: Outside food or beverage is prohibited.
