What is changing at Beaver Stadium in 2026?
The West Shore Home Field at Beaver Stadium Revitalization, a $700 million project approved by the Penn State Board of Trustees in 2024, reached a structural "topping out" milestone in June 2026 when the final beam was placed atop the 195-foot PAM Health Misitano Family Tower. For the 2026 season the stadium is using new permanent upper-bowl seating on the west side in place of 2025's temporary bleachers, while the tower's interior club and suite spaces are not yet ready and the lower bowl will be demolished and replaced after the 2026 season, with full completion targeted for the 2027 season. How do students get in at Beaver Stadium?
Gate A, in the southeast corner of the stadium, is the students-only entrance. Students must have their mobile season ticket and Penn State ID ready, and after entry receive a non-transferable wristband that must be shown each time they re-enter the student section and worn throughout the game. A Student Ticket/Guest Service Booth is located near the student section seating areas on the mid-level concourse above Gate A. (source)
What are the tailgating rules at Beaver Stadium?
Day-of-game parking lots open at 8 a.m. for non-noon games and 7 a.m. for noon games. The Overnight RV (ORV) lot operates Thursdays before home games from 6 p.m. to midnight, Fridays from 6 a.m. to midnight, Saturday game days from 7 a.m. (noon games) or 8 a.m. (other game times), and fans must leave all lots by noon on the Sunday after home games. Guests may not set up tailgating tents, chairs, or other items before the posted lot opening time, and overnight parking is prohibited except in designated overnight lots. Vehicle and all tailgate activities must fit within the 8.5-foot by 15-foot parking space provided; tents or canopies over a vehicle tailgate are limited to 10 feet by 10 feet and may not occupy other spaces, travel lanes, or be used to save spaces. A defined emergency access lane must be maintained in the center of each aisle, free of chairs, tables, and canopies. One parking pass is permitted per car, and saving parking spaces is prohibited. Prohibited in the lots: consuming alcohol while the game is in progress, kegs of beer or beverage alcohol, charcoal or wood fires, glass bottles or containers in grass parking areas, portable heaters with visible flames, and drones. Tailgating is prohibited in the East Deck. (source)
Is there a sun and shade map for Beaver Stadium?
Not yet. The stadium is in the middle of a multi-year renovation, so the stands are changing season by season and no survey shows them as they are now. We only publish seat and sun data measured from a survey of the stands as they are now, so this guide sticks to the schedule, parking and stadium policies until a newer survey is flown.
