Purcell Pavilion bag policy: bag size, banned items, food and water

The policy allows for only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches in size, with a logo on one side no larger than 4.5 inches by 3.4 inches. Small clutch bags with or without a handle or strap, or wallets that do not exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches, are allowable and do not need to be clear. One-gallon clear plastic zip bags are also allowable. Exceptions are made for approved medical bags or equipment, inspected at designated gates.

What items are banned at Purcell Pavilion?

Aerosol cans or bottles. Animals (service dogs permitted). Artificial noisemakers, including whistles. Bags and containers that do not meet the clear bag policy. Bottles of water. Drones or unmanned aerial systems. Fireworks or explosives. Glass bottles. Golf umbrellas. Laser or pen pointers. Large / non-collapsible umbrellas. Obstructive cameras or selfie sticks. Can you bring food or water into Purcell Pavilion?

Outside alcohol and alcohol containers are not permitted inside Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center, and outside food or beverage is not permitted, with exceptions for dietary restrictions upon approval. (source)

Can you leave and come back in?

Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center utilizes metal detectors at all entrances; after having clear bags checked, guests pass through the metal detectors and then have tickets scanned for entry. (source)

Can you smoke at Purcell Pavilion?

Use of tobacco products and e-cigarettes is prohibited within Purcell Pavilion. (source)

Is Purcell Pavilion cashless?

Notre Dame's campus has transitioned to cashless transactions. Payments in the form of credit or debit card will be accepted, and all concession stands accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Tap to Pay. (source)
