Haas Pavilion bag policy: bag size, banned items, food and water

Haas Pavilion enforces a clear bag policy. Approved bags are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC not exceeding 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches, or a small clutch approximately the size of a hand. Backpacks, including clear backpacks, are prohibited. Non-clear bags may not exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Diaper bags are allowed when the infant is present. A free bag check is located on the Bancroft side of Spieker Plaza, opening 1 hour before tip-off and closing 30 minutes after the game ends.

What items are banned at Haas Pavilion?

Backpacks, including clear backpacks. Clear bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches. Non-clear bags larger than 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches. Seat cushions larger than 18 inches. Alcohol of any kind (outside). Hard plastic bottles (Nalgene, bike water bottles, etc.). Animals (exception for service dogs). Banners / signs. Balls or other projectiles. Weapons. Glass or metal bottles. Cans. Open containers. Sticks / poles. Fireworks. Hard coolers. Umbrellas. Artificial noise making devices. Video cameras. Monopods / tripods. Professional cameras with interchangeable or detachable lenses over 6 inches. Laser pointers. Tobacco products, including e-cigarettes. Skateboards / rollerblades / scooters / roller shoes. Balloons. Can you bring food or water into Haas Pavilion?

Outside food and fruit are permitted if cut into pieces; soft plastic bottles of water or soft drinks are allowed, but hard plastic, glass, or metal bottles and cans are prohibited. (source)

Can you leave and come back in?

To ensure a safe and secure environment, re-entry is not allowed once a guest has left Haas Pavilion. (source)

Can you smoke at Haas Pavilion?

Campus policy prohibits the use of tobacco, smokeless tobacco, and unregulated nicotine products such as e-cigarettes at all indoor and outdoor spaces owned or leased by UC Berkeley. (source)
